Tasting Notes: Hertog Jan Dubbel is a traditional top-fermented dark beer. The designation ‘Double’ traditionally refers to double the amount of ingredients we use in brewing. The secondary fermentation takes place at our Dubbel in the bottle. This ensures that fresh, rich taste and that beautiful aroma. Hertog Jan Dubbel can be tasted with all your senses, so that you can fully enjoy colour, smell and taste. First, you pour it into a glass, admire the foam head and the beautiful red-brown colour. Then you can smell the full, soft aroma. You take a sip and taste the richly malty character. Finally, you enjoy the slightly sweet aftertaste.
